Udwartanam

In simple language Udwarthanam is powder massage. It is a unique therapeutic deep tissue massage using special herbal powders.  Udwarthanam is a sanskrit term which means to elevate or to promote. The treatment is performed with upward stroking (against the hair follicles), with forcible rubbing of powder on the body.

Procedure:
The udwartanam powder is made warm prior to treatment. The treatment involves deep upward strokes, against the hair follicles. The treatment usually is performed in 7 postures but in some centers it may be performed on 2 postures. after 45- 60 mins of treatment person may take rest for 30 minutes followed by a shower with warm water.

Duration of treatment : 45 minutes to 60 minutes
